History

Over thirty years ago, a small and exclusive number of high-level diversity executives from local corporations began meeting periodically to compare notes and share ideas about their endeavors and challenges in this new and developing professional area. The Atlanta Diversity Managers’ Affinity Group (ADMAG) was formed.

Over the years, ADMAG has broadened its membership composition and mission. Although our primary focus is still the corporate workplace, we have members from non-profits, consulting firms, governmental agencies, and educational institutions. We also have members who may not have direct functional responsibility for diversity management such as members of diversity councils. Furthermore, our mission now includes creating opportunities for sharing of emerging practices and for professional development.

In 2012, ADMAG changed its name to the Atlanta Diversity Management Advocacy Group to more accurately describe its expanded role.
